Star Trek: Roddenberry son does not last much of Tarantino
For some years, it has been known that the Kult Director Quentin Tarantino gladly has staged a film in the Star Trek Universe. There was even a collaboration with the author Mark L. Smith to write a matching script. The latter is finished, but Tarantino has now faced other projects. It therefore remains open for the time being as to whether the script is picked up from another director at a later date. For Rod Roddenberry, the son of the star-trek creator Gene Roddenberry, this development seems to come straight right. For as he explained in an interview with the magazine forbes, it was or he is not very enthusiastic about the Tarantino version.
I ve so my problems. I am very short-sighted in the way I see Star Trek. (...) Fans come to me and explain how Star Trek inspires them and hope for the future given. It is this optimism and this message, the Star Trek to make what it was. I really believe that. If you make a star Trek, where it s just about action, then in my opinion is not star Trek. That s what it s different from Star Wars, and I love Star Wars. But you can exist next to each other.
Roddenberry emphasized in the interview a big fan of Tarantino and his work. However, his vision can not be combined with Star Trek - at least not after his personal view.
I do not think you can say We make a reservoir Dogs Star Trek . I want to be honest, that does not work for me. But he is a fan, and as a fan he will probably understand to a certain point The Star Trek has to bring something from this message.
What s your opinion about ...? Is your Rod Roddenberry true or should he show himself more open to a new alignment of Star Trek? Let s know us in the comments!
