PS5: Sony discreetly markets a new model of the console, the details

The Australian Press-Start website has just reported its discovery of the recent marketing of a new model of PS5. Of course it is not a question of a new PS5 color or a slim version of the last Sony console but a minor hardware revision.

According to the information recovered by the Australian site, this new version of the PS5 concerns the standard model (equipped with a Blu-ray player). The console now has cfi-1102a as a serial number and has undergone, a priori, two hardware modifications.

The first is the weight of the console. Indeed, it appears that this new standard PS5 is lighter 300 grams compared to the original model released last November. The second modification concerns the replacement ... of a screw.

This screw is that used to attach to the PS5 the foot to suit the console vertically. The new screw has obviously been chosen because it allows to place the foot of the console without having to use screwdrivers. A photo showing this new screw is available in our gallery below .

Not surprisingly, such changes do not affect the selling price of the console. We contacted Sony to find out when French consumers can expect to see this revision appear in the shexes of the hexagon. This news will be updated if the French branch of the Nippon manufacturer meets us.
